Boats that must be built...

West Coast Handliner. These are traditional fishing craft from the Salish Sea and beyond. Built with carvel planking on steam bent frames these boats are tough and fast... very fast when under oar power. See the Shipyard Raid website for more photo's of Colin Mason's handliner 'Bus Bailey'.

This little ship is very similar to the 'Francoise De La Rosa' - a heavy displacement day sailor with wonderful lines and a cloud of sail. No doubt this a boat that can leave the dock in most any type of weather. Her little diesel can fire up to get you home in daylight.

Paul Gartside's cutter 'Surprise II' is a stout little ship that I would like to - as Mr. Gartside did - sail to Alaska. Accommodation’s for 2 on a cruise. Classic lines.

The Colchester Smack - specifically CK9 'Harriet Blanche' built in 1912. Her lines are held in the NMM in England and are screaming for a West Coast edition. This would be a thrilling boat to build and sail.
